There’s something a little different about 3rd Saturday nights in Pensacola.
Inside one of East Hill’s most recognizable historic buildings, the music comes on, the floor fills up, and dancers from around the area gather for an evening of West Coast Swing lessons and social dancing.

A Different Kind of Saturday Night
If your usual Saturday night has started feeling a little too predictable, this is your chance to change it up.
West Coast Swing is a modern social dance that can be danced to a huge variety of music. It’s relaxed, creative, social, and designed around dancing with another person rather than simply memorizing choreography.
And one of the best parts?
You don’t need to bring a partner.
Our community is built around people dancing with one another, meeting new people, and sharing the floor. You can walk through the door by yourself and still have an entire night of people to dance with.
Two Lessons. Then We Turn Up the Music.
Every 3rd Saturday begins with two one-hour West Coast Swing lessons from 6:00–8:00 PM.
These are our regular 3rd Saturday classes, giving dancers a chance to work on movement, connection, partnership, musicality, and the skills that make social dancing more fun.
Then at 8:00 PM, the lesson portion ends and the social dance begins.
From 8:00–10:30 PM, the floor is open.
This is where you get to use what you learned, dance with different people, enjoy the music, and experience what West Coast Swing is really about.
There’s no competition. No performance pressure. No requirement to dance every song.
Dance a lot. Dance a little. Take a break and talk. Meet someone new. Then jump back onto the floor when your favorite song comes on.
Dancing Inside a Piece of Pensacola History
Part of what makes our 3rd Saturday event special is the location.
We dance inside Studio 211 at the Historic Sacred Heart Building in East Hill.
The building has character that you simply don’t get from a typical studio or ballroom. It gives 3rd Saturday its own personality and creates a completely different atmosphere from our other Pensacola Swing Dance Society events.
It feels less like walking into another dance class and more like discovering something tucked away inside Pensacola.
And once the music starts and people begin filling the room, the space comes alive.
Come for the Dancing. Stay for the People.
People often discover Pensacola Swing Dance Society because they want to learn how to dance.
What keeps many of them coming back is the community.
West Coast Swing gives adults an easy reason to get out of the house, meet people they might never have met otherwise, and become part of something social without the pressure of a traditional bar or nightclub.
You already have something in common with everyone in the room:
You showed up to dance.
That makes starting conversations easier. It makes meeting people easier. And after you’ve shared a few dances, strangers don’t stay strangers very long.
