Wednesday Nights Just Got a Little More Country in Pensacola
There’s a new reason to get out of the house on Wednesday night: country partner dancing, new friends, and a big dance floor waiting for you.
Starting October 7, 2026, the Panhandle Country Dance Alliance (PCDA) brings weekly country dance lessons and social dancing to Ragon Hall in Pensacola. Whether you’re taking your first steps or looking for a regular place to practice, you’re welcome here.
And if you have a current student ID, you get in free!
Building a Home for Country Partner Dancing
Led by Gary Jobst, PCDA brings together instructors, dancers, and local dance groups to create a home base for country partner dancing in the Florida Panhandle.
The idea is simple: give people a place to learn, practice, and enjoy these dances every week. Beginners need somewhere to get comfortable. Experienced dancers need time on the floor. Competitive dancers need room to work on their partnerships. Everyone needs opportunities to have fun.
With a 5,000-square-foot dance floor, great air conditioning, and atmosphere-enhancing lighting, Ragon Hall gives this growing community room to move.
Wednesday nights are hosted by Gary Jobst and produced by Pensacola Swing Dance Society.
Two-Step, Country Swing, and Room to Grow
October kicks off with Two-Step and Country Swing lessons, each followed by guided practice. You’ll have time to try what you learned before the social dance begins.
Two-Step will be part of the program every month. The second lesson will rotate as the Alliance grows, with styles and guest instructors changing by month or week depending on availability. Our broader focus includes Nightclub Two-Step, Waltz, Cha Cha, and other country partner dances.
We want to build a place where these dances become familiar, comfortable, and part of your regular week.

You Don’t Need a Partner or Experience
Never danced before? You can start here. Coming by yourself? You’re welcome.
You don’t have to arrive knowing the steps or already knowing people. Lessons and guided practice give you a starting point, and social dancing gives you a reason to keep coming back.
Bring a friend, plan a date night, or come meet your local dance community. PCDA welcomes both social and competitive dancers from Pensacola and across the Panhandle.
