New to Pensacola? Looking for a Place to Belong?

Moving to a new city can be exciting—but figuring out where you fit in can take a little longer.

Maybe you just moved to Pensacola for work, the military, school, family, or simply because you wanted to live near the Gulf Coast. You know where to grab dinner and where the beach is, but there’s another question that can be a little harder:

Where do you actually meet people?

Pensacola has plenty to do, but finding a place where you can walk in by yourself, meet new people, and actually become part of a community is different.

That’s where West Coast Swing comes in.

You Don’t Need to Know Anyone

One of the biggest misconceptions about social dancing is that you need to bring a partner.

You don’t.

At Pensacola Swing Dance Society, people come by themselves all the time. During classes we rotate partners, which means you naturally meet people throughout the evening instead of standing around trying to figure out who to talk to.

You also don’t need any previous dance experience.

If you’re brand new, we’ll help you get started.

More Than Just Dance Lessons

Yes, you’ll learn how to dance.

But for many people, that ends up being only part of the reason they keep coming back.

West Coast Swing is social dancing. You take a class, practice what you learned, dance with different people, laugh when something doesn’t quite work, try again, and slowly start recognizing familiar faces.

Then those familiar faces become friends.

For adults who are new to Pensacola, that can be incredibly valuable.

You don’t have to wait months to feel connected to your new city. Sometimes it starts by simply walking into a room and trying something new.

Looking for Something to Do on a Monday Night?

Every Monday night, Pensacola Swing Dance Society hosts West Coast Swing lessons and social dancing at Ragon Hall in Pensacola.

Classes begin at 6 PM, with different levels of instruction throughout the evening, followed by social dancing from 8:00–10:30 PM.

Beginners are welcome.

No partner is needed.

And if you’re between 18 and 25, Monday nights are free through our Young Adult program.

Whether you just moved to Pensacola last week or you’ve lived here for years and simply want to meet some new people, you’re welcome.

Come Alone. You Won’t Be Alone for Long.

You don’t have to already be a dancer.

You don’t have to know anyone.

You don’t have to bring a partner.

Just show up.

Pensacola Swing Dance Society has been building a West Coast Swing community in Pensacola since 2016, and one of the things we’re most proud of is creating a place where people can walk through the door for the first time and feel welcome.

If you're new to the Pensacola area and looking for something fun, social, and completely different to try, come spend a Monday night with us.

Come for the lesson. Stay for the people.
