Ten years of dancing, friendships, first lessons, and “just one more song.” That deserves a celebration!
Pensacola Swing Dance Society is celebrating our 10-year anniversary, and we’re welcoming Robert Cordoba for the occasion. Join us Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Ragon Hall for a special First Saturday of learning, social dancing, and celebrating the people who have made PSDS what it is today.
A Dance Legend Is Coming to Pensacola
If you haven’t had the opportunity to learn from Robert Cordoba, this is a name you should know.
Robert’s accomplishments include two World Championship titles, seven U.S. Open titles, four consecutive USA Grand National titles, and four consecutive NASDE titles. He was also the first dancer to win three consecutive U.S. Open titles, with championship wins in both Classic and Showcase during his career.
His contributions have earned recognition in the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame, Dallas D.A.N.C.E. Hall of Fame, and World Swing Dance Hall of Fame. His experience spans decades of teaching, coaching, performing, and judging.
And his influence reaches far beyond competition. Robert helped introduce and grow West Coast Swing communities internationally, sharing the dance with people who would go on to build communities of their own.
Having that experience here in Pensacola is something worth getting excited about. You don’t have to travel to a major national event to spend time learning from one of the people who helped shape our dance.
Ten Years of Showing Up for Each Other
When we look back over the past decade, we think about the people.
The beginner who walked in unsure they could dance. The familiar faces who kept coming back. The dancers who welcomed someone new, offered encouragement, or helped turn an unfamiliar room into a place where someone felt they belonged.
Every lesson, social dance, visiting instructor, and shared evening has helped build this community. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or joined us recently, you’re part of that story.
This anniversary is a chance to get together, appreciate how far we’ve come, and make a few more memories on the dance floor.
